868 The Bible Stands

1

The Bible stands like a rock undaunted

‘Mid the raging storms of time;

Its pages burn with the truth eternal,

And they glow with a light sublime.

The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,

It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;

I will plant me feet on its firm foundation,

For the Bible stands.

2

The Bible stands like a mountain tow’ring

Far above the works of men;

Its truth by none ever was refuted,

And destroy it they never can.

The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,

It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;

I will plant me feet on its firm foundation,

For the Bible stands.

3

The Bible stands and it will forever,

When the world has passed away;

By inspiration it has been given,

All its precepts I will obey.

The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,

It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;

I will plant me feet on its firm foundation,

For the Bible stands.

4

The Bible stands ev’ry test we give it,

For its Author is divine;

By grace alone I expect to live it,

And to prove it and make it mine.

The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,

It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;

I will plant me feet on its firm foundation,

For the Bible stands.

386 Revive Us Again

1

We praise Thee, O God, for the Son of Thy love,

For Jesus who died and is now gone above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory,

Hallelujah! Amen;

Hallelujah! Thine the glory;

Revive us again.

2

We praise Thee, O God, for Thy Spirit of light,

Who has shown us our Saviour and scattered our night.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory,

Hallelujah! Amen;

Hallelujah! Thine the glory;

Revive us again.

3

All glory and praise to the Lamb that was slain,

Who has borne all our sins and has cleansed ev’ry stain.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory,

Hallelujah! Amen;

Hallelujah! Thine the glory;

Revive us again.

4

Revive us again, fill each heart with Thy love;

May each soul be rekindled with fire from above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory,

Hallelujah! Amen;

Hallelujah! Thine the glory;

Revive us again.

823 Sweeter as the Years Go By

1

Of Jesus’ love that sought me When I was lost in sin,

Of wondrous grace that brought me Back to His fold again;

Of heights and depths of mercy Far deeper than the sea

And higher than the heavens, My theme shall ever be.

Sweeter as the years go by,

Sweeter as the years go by;

Richer, fuller, deeper, Jesus’ love is sweeter,

Sweeter as the years go by.

2

He trod in old Judea Life’s pathway long ago;

The people thronged about Him His saving grace to know;

He healed the broken-hearted And caused the blind to see;

And still His great heart yearneth In love for even me.

Sweeter as the years go by,

Sweeter as the years go by;

Richer, fuller, deeper, Jesus’ love is sweeter,

Sweeter as the years go by.

3

‘Twas wondrous love which led Him For us to suffer loss;

To bear without a murmur The anguish of the cross;

With saints redeemed in glory Let us our voices raise,

Till heav’n and earth re-echo With our Redeemer’s praise.

Sweeter as the years go by,

Sweeter as the years go by;

Richer, fuller, deeper, Jesus’ love is sweeter,

Sweeter as the years go by.

190 Rejoice the Lord is King

1

Rejoice, the Lord is king; Your Lord and King adore!

Rejoice, give thanks, and sing, And triumph evermore.

Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice!

Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

2

Jesus the Saviour reigns, The God of truth and love;

When He had purged our stains, He took His seat above.

Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice!

Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

3

His kingdom cannot fail; He rules o’er earth and Heav’n;

The keys of death and hell Are to our Jesus giv’n.

Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice!

Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

4

Rejoice in glorious hope! Our Lord, the Judge, shall come,

And take His servants up To their eternal home.

Life up your heart! Lift up your voice!

Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
